CyberShield Advanced Online Protection Features

The CyberShield system is pre-configured with settings that will offer a good level of online security for most families.

There are two places where CyberShield settings can be customised, the CyberShield Portal or the CyberShield Hub web admin page.


CyberShield Portal

The portal is a cloud based administration console which is accessible from any web browser. It can be accessed from home or any location that has internet access.

The following settings can be administered from the portal:

Filtering levels – Configure filtering categories to control which types of websites can and can’t be accessed

Reports – Create reports showing details on which websites have been accessed & blocked

Schedule – Configure internet access schedules with different filtering policies

The Cyber Shield Portal can be accessed by going to http://portal.cyber-shield.co.uk The username and password for the Portal are located on the password card that comes with the CyberShield Hub

 

CyberShield Hub

The CyberShield Hub is the small wireless router that applies security settings configured in the Portal to internet devices that connect to the CyberShield WiFi.

By connecting to the Hub administrator web page (only accessible when connected to the CyberShield WiFi, not accessible from the internet) the following settings \ features can be configured:


VPN – Setup 3rd party open VPNs to provide encrypted internet access for all devices using the Hub for internet access

WiFi Settings – Change WiFi name and password

WISP – Configure wireless link connections e.g. make hub into WiFi extender or connect to WiFi networks for internet access, without a cable

The Hub administration page can be accessed by going to http://myhub.local he username and password for the Portal are located on the password card that comes with the CyberShield Hub


CyberShield Android App

There are no advanced options that can be directly configured on the Android App. Any security change made in the Portal will be applied to the Android App.

The Token (found on the password card supplied with the Hub) is used to link the App to your account.
